I think definitely no on the first and probably no on the second. A wet beard can be deceiving.

Good luck Steve! Your due. Both look like nice birds. Your pictures you take are impressive.
Thanks Tom. Got out of the house early today, was about 2 or so miles from hunting land and deer ran out and I hit it, had to call the cops to come dispatch the deer as I must have broke it's back or neck and it was clearly still breathing. Got that all taken care of and went to start the truck and the battery was dead from running the 4 ways. Had to wait a half hour at least for the tow truck to show up and give me a jump, that God for AAA I got into woods about 6:30-45 and set up and a hen came out, I talked with her to keep her around hoping she would draw in the fellas and she did,  not in range of gun but got some pictures anyway. Oh forgot to mention, another gift from God, no damage to truck at all, I think she stuck her head in the wheel-well got spun around and that is how neck or back broke.

I could see that. Nothing in range today, saw two toms a hen, a mess of deer one on road and many in field and a Cardinal as well as other birds I don't know. Good day even though it looked like it was going to go bad. Oh I also saw two porcupine, I have only seen two in my entire lifetime before this.

Thanks, no luck getting one in range but I got to watch the dance again, something I had never seen up close before this season. A good day overall.

No, I am not physically able to load a deer on my own anymore and where it was I would not have been able to get it anyway. (Deep ditch) They are not very good eating this time of year anyway. I did go back because I wanted to see if it was a buck or doe and somebody had gotten it. Not sure if it was a person or the highway crew, but the highway crew normally leaves them in ditches.

Rough day bud but the good thing is you didn't get hunt and no damage to your truck other then a dead battery.
Shame the deer had to be dispatched but I take it somebody took it and maybe it will help feed some people in need.
Those birds are waiting for you to visit them tomorrow and I'm sure it will go your way.
Good luck and keep us posted.
Be safe my friend.

Bud I said before the beginning of the season that I really wanted to get pictures more than I did to shoot one, I have gotten that and I have gotten to see two turkey dance up close and personal which was something I had never seen before which is cool, I also got to see my first bearded hen and also got to see a turkey dusting itself which is also something I have never seen before. It truly has already been a great year and If I get nothing then that is just fine with me, it was worth the price of admittance. I would like to see turkey breed but that may be asking to much.
