Recoil Pad for Winchester SX3

I've always found the posters on this board to be very helpful, and I want to thank you all for the great reading.  Hopefully, you will be able to help me with my problem.  The recoil pad on my SX3 is cracked and I want to replace it.  However, I cannot find any pre-fit pads that will work for this gun.  It looks like I will have to get a grind to fit pad, but I'm even having trouble finding one of those where the screw holes match up to the holes in the stock.  Does anyone know of any recoil pads made to fit the SX3, or at least a grind to fit pad where the holes match up to the holes in the SX3 stock?

Thanks,

Bill

Contact Winchester if you would like a direct fit replacement. You should ask and see if they will replace it at no charge.  The SX3 hasn't been around long enough for a pad to be cracking IMHO.

Limbsaver Precicision Fit Model #10008 for Browning Gold Synthetic Stock will fit it as does the HiViz XCBRNGOLD.  I put one on mine.  It also fits the Browning Silver.

Thanks, I will contact Winchester.  The gun is only 3 years old and the pad should not be cracked.  As for the limbsaver 10008, that's how I found that the pachmyer was cracked.  I took it off to replace with the Limbsaver and that model wouldn't fit.  I've since printed the template for all of the Limbsaver models and none of them match up to the shape of the stock.  Too bad really, because I do like the limbsaver pads.

That's strange, because both the Limbsaver and HiViz pad fit both my SX3 and my Silver.

Hey Bill,

Since your gun is 3 years old, it probably has the Pachmayr pad on it. The later models have the "Inflex" pad which is much better but that pad may not fit your early model SX3.

I'm not sure I understand what is cracked. Is the rubber pad cracked or the butt plate that the pad is on cracked? If the rubber portion is cracked, it should be a warranty item.

I'd also recommend that you call the folks at Winchester or maybe even easier, return it to the store where you purchased it and they will probably be able to handle it as a warranty repair.

Thanks,
Clark

There is a harder section on the pad and that is what is cracked.  I'm starting to wonder if the limbsaver in the package may not have been the 10008 model.  I do have a Browing Silver, so I will check and see if the pad fits that gun.  I will report back on that tomorrow.  as for going back to the store where I bought the gun, that isn't an option because they fell victim to the bad economy.

So I ended up putting the Limbsaver 10008 on the Browining Silver and it fits perfectly.  I can't figure out why it won't fit the SX3, but I am going to call Winchester first thing Monday.

I have dealt with the branch in Arnold Missouri, super nice and great customer service !! Sent me the part I needed for my X3 FREE !! I didn't even have to pay shipping. My gun is one of the first edition as well, now that you mention it I think my butt pad is the same way. I will have to look at mine to see.
