I have to whine a little.

To have been such a bad year for weather during turkey season, I've been lucky so far and had quite a few days that were nice, or was at least able to capitalize on the few days that were nice or even between storms.  My luck may have run out.

Weather predictions for NW Nebraska are starting to look worse as the weekend approaches.  Considering I decided to do this almost last minute, I'll kick myself in the..........if this turns into four days of thunderstorms and wind while sitting in a truck that could be stuck in the mud of a county road.  I may not need to kick it myself because my wife my kick it for me if she's stuck in a hotel room or cabin the whole time.

Come on weather.........I need some cooperation, so I can close this season out on a good note.

Spoke with my friend who is hunting in KS right now and they were getting out of the local library which serves as the town tornado shelter. This was last night. Rough weather in those parts right now.

Please give us an update when you finish the season.  I have had Chadron, NE bookmarked on my computer and almost never seen a day with decent weather this May.  It was either cold or very windy, often both.  There has to be a good weather day there at some point.  Good luck.

Its been one out of three so far with the nice day resulting in one bird and two close calls.  Yesterday was late afternoon only with one gobble but two birds roosted.  This morn is super foggy and everything is saturated and dripping including us.  the two toms gobbled for 45 minutes  flew down 30 minutes late with two hens and never said another word.  we have came back to dry out for an hour.  I have yet to kill one of these birds earlier than 1030.
