Can deer ruin a setup?

So twice in as many hunts I've been set up working a bird and deer have come along downwind and started snorting like they've got nothing better to do. Both times this happened I never heard the birds again. My question is will deer snorting like that ruin a setup?

They can.   But in my experience the birds will shut down temporarily but fire back up after a while.

GW is pretty much spot on here. I don't let it bother me. Things happen. They hear deer snort all the time. Don't let it get ya down.

yes

3 days ago my dad and i had 2 toms with hens about 80 yards from us over a ridge. not saying we'd have got'em but i heard movement to my left and then a deer snorting. a hen then cackled and cutt for a few minutes and then walked the flock directly away from us

we got'em the next day though. the hens are so aggressive now that they're walking toms immediately away from any calling so i called and "drove" the birds away from me and right past my dad

They sure don't help you. Bumping them doesn't either. I guess it pretty much depends on the mood of the gobbler.

I had a gobbler hammering couple years ago just out of site I just knew I was going to kill him at any second. A doe came below me and blowed and ran directly toward the gobbler I never heard him again.
