Guys my wife just bought me one what striker do I need to pair with this call

Hickory and/or black locust typically run well on slate.

Love Steve's calls. Have several! I like snakewood, dymondwood, or tulip wood. Neal Herman makes a great tulip wood and dymondwood that sing on any slate. I use a Clay Townsend snakewood striker with persimmon top most of the time.

I may have to see if I can find a Townsend snakewood with persimmon top give it a try.

Agree, Clay Townsend snakewood persimmon top. Now another good one if you can find one is Mr Fowler snakewood osage top. His son is making Fowler strikers now also.
