Public land is a test of skill and patience.
I've hunted a lot of pay to hunt, all but one in Victoria TX was worth the price.
Other than the Ozena TX ranch I've hunted, they all want to guide a push until, you kill.
Understand keeping percentages up for advertising, but takes away the fun.

Generally speaking, I would say I agree.  Nevertheless, there are times, places, and circumstances all across the country, I believe, where neither is needed to kill a gobbler if you catch him at the right moment in time.

Yep, those "assembly line" outfits are the ones I try to avoid like the plague.  I want to go turkey hunting, not have some "guide" rushing around trying to get me to shoot a semi-tame gobbler so he can cash out and move on as quickly as possible to the next "client".  I have only had a couple of those in all my years, but that is the reason I will look for any and all DIY opportunities before I will grit my teeth and pay to hunt anywhere.
