Hey guys I just thought I would recap a few projects and a season to remember.  This was a first attempt at each project, some mistakes made and lessons learned, but in the end everything turned out pretty good.  Hope this inspires others to tackle some new projects down the road.  I like testing things, seeing results and tinkering, so maybe this helps someone out with ideas or builds.

20 gauge Weatherby PA459 build
-custom paint
-vortex venom red dot
-kickeez recoil pad
-godagrip comb riser pad
-IC .555 choke
-TSS 2 3/4" -1 3/8oz handloads

-Hot box used to bake cure paint

-plexiglass pattern tool

TSS handloading

-TSS shot trap

-trap results (6 shots fired/5.5 rounds recovered)

L to R  -IC.555, Sumtoy .562, CNC .565, IC .575 all fired from Weatherby PA459 tactical & SA459 tactical with same results

-Hunts

I am trying to be nice about this but any man that kills a game animal and throws away perfectly edible meat because they are to lazy to properly take care of it isn't a hunter at all and I will leave it at that before I really say what I think. It really ticks me off in a bad way and tells me a lot about that person. Take it for what it's worth but you have spoken volumes about yourself and I am not impressed in the least.

Take your holier than thou self and troll somewhere else.  I post 40+ pics and you choose 1 you don't like to bitch about, get a life dude.  I would venture to say 75% of turkey hunters take the breast alone, so giving one leg   of which I had my reasons for doing so, to my dog is actually making use of the entire bird.  I also use the wing feathers to make & fletch natural turkey feathers.

Trying worrying about you, and celebrate fellow hunters, rather than sitting high up on your pedestal trying to judge others.  Or better yet just move along.

Great pics.  I enjoy the preseason prep as much as the actual time spent hunting.

Great pics and congrats on the birds! How's the trap working for you?

We feed our dogs a ton of raw meat. It's a good natural diet and a great way to utilize parts and pieces that would otherwise be discarded. I save hearts and livers from deer and all the animals we raise and butcher as well as turkey legs etc. that like you said a lot of people would toss in the trash or leave in the gut pile.

My shepherd gives me the WTF look when I give him a bowl of dog food. Lol

Lol ya the problem is now she's spoiled and will hold out for literally days for raw meat, she'll only eat dry food when's she desperate or when we mix it in.  But agree completely, it what that were made to eat....nothing better!

Trap is fantastic with abt 85-90% shot recovery.  Just don't shoot the canvas inside of 30yds and it will take lots of shots!

Just finished building a shot trap similar to this using the canvas layers. It worked great. I wound up putting a rug on the front, then a layer of quilted material, then 8 layers of canvas 10 oz drop cloth. I recovered 92% of my shot. It would have been higher but we were dialing in red dots and we had a couple high fliers. Thanks for the great write up.
