Can't give you any advice for Oklahoma, but I saw this thread and was curious.  One thing we did for our freelancing in MS and Canada is have some simple business cards printed.  Has our names and cell numbers on them.  We let them know we are just a family group and friends.  We are not guiding (very important in both places).   We just like folks to be able to contact us.  We get numbers when we can in case you are in one spot and find something better elsewhere to let them know you will not be there the next day and maybe if you can try it another day-I store them in my phone with some information to remind me of where they are.  I have a guy in MS that still calls us from 5 years ago to let us know when the snow geese are on his place.  Had one guy tell us no two years running because his land was leased, but he said we could call him in the future. On the third year his fields were loaded, he remembered us and told us to have at it - we slayed the snows- our best day ever in MS.

Take the no politely and thank them.  Gifts from home are a great idea. We take can syrup and Satsuma oranges.  Also, always offer to gift them meat (cleaned of course).

Good luck and have fun.  Met some great folks in Oklahoma on a pheasant hunt this year.
Psalms 118v24: This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
