The first 2 must be Chestnut...hard to get good Chestnut to cooperate, but the wider growth rings help to avoid skips btwn rings.  Good looking calls

I've (secretly) been waiting to see what you had going on in your shop.  Thanks for the eye candy !!

 Thanks for showing them.  :icon_thumright:

A quality paddle caller will most run itself.  It just needs someone to carry it around the woods. Yoder409
Over time...they come to learn how little air a good yelper actually requires. ChesterCopperpot

I'm still building calls when work, kids, and other activities allow, lol.  I try to keep a couple calls moving forward all the time.

Yep, chestnut!  I'm excited to finally get my hands on a good piece, really happy with the sounds this board is producing.

If you dont mind can you tell me what product you used to seal or coat the calls. I tried minwax tung oil finish and was not happy with the way it darkened the poplar bodies. Looks great on the oak lids. I was just curious because of how light the chestnut still is on your calls. Beautiful job btw.

HillclimberWV, a lot of us spray them with Lacquer, Minwax, deft and others, though it won't hold up as well as say an oil finish, but they don't affect sound, much faster to apply and hold the color well in the wood.

I was excited when Toby's  Cedar over Chestnut longbox showed up at my door. It is a finely tuned longbox  that  sounds outstanding.
