I've never been to New York with the exception of NYC. I will not discuss my thoughts on that place. However, I have worked with a few people from the rural areas of New York State and they have talked very highly of it.

The call makers show sounds like a good way to explore. So yeah I'm interested.

Look on Mountain Hollow calls. They sell a very small box call that is a fantastic call. I bought one last year at Nashville and my son in law had me pick him up one this year. Also consider a push pin call for your daughter. Same company makes a good one of these also. She will be able to learn clucks, purrs and yelps quickly. She just might call in one for you. Good luck and good job getting her involved.

The best are selling for less than $150 and worth twice that. Flippers ask 3x. Says a lot about the makers.
With your stated budget it wouldn't be a large stretch to get a good one, you'd never be sorry. It doesn't mean you can't find one for less, but a proven maker is always a good bet. Be patient, the yelper craze is in full swing.

I know it's a long shot but hoping someone might  know who made this. The writing on the bell is hard to see due to the dark wood and chipped clear coat. First name might be Lewis and it's from 2013. Just found it with a bunch of old calls I had boxed up.

Permar makes a fine Jordon style. Find him at Permarturkeycalks.com
It's called Improved Jordon Yelper costing $80. It runs easily and has a good tone.
