Turkey Guns / Grind to fit recoil pads

Anyone done a grind to fit recoil pad and have advice? Looking at doing my first one to make an old Remington 870 youth 20 gauge more pleasant to shoot. It's stock rubber pad is a cracking a bit.

One of my go to calls when I'm hunting is a fp copper pot call. I haven't made any in a while so I decided
to make a few. Here are some just finished. These are now on my website.
