Osage, tulipwood, bloodwood are a couple I like. He makes good strikers and on his website he will tell you a little bit about each one like what surface he likes with each wood. He is also a great guy to deal with

Persimmon, Hickory, black locust, jatoba, tulipwood. His canarywood will turn your eardrum inside out!

You won't go wrong with anything he makes really. My two favorites are Tulipwood and Bloodwood but have several others and can't think of one I wouldn't hunt.

I don't have any of his strikers but did pick up two pot calls at the West Virginia deer show this year that I'll be hunting with.  He makes a fine Corian pot call.  Glass and aluminum.

I have a few of his. Anyone tried his Wingbone striker? Heard it's a good one?

I have several of his strikers and they are my favorites.  I've replaced most of pot call's original strikers with Fred's.

I have his tulipwood and dymondwood for my glass/crystal calls and his canarywood for slate. Love his strikers, hoping to pick up some of his ebony strikers as well.
