is Copper pot hard to run..the one I got last year is a 3 inch an hard to get a good sound.

Copper is prob my least favorite surface, so I am not an expert.
But I can get good sound out of it. I think you still need to condition the surface a little
So the striker can grab. Works well with the Striker that came with it.
