Title: Mossberg pump rattle
Post by: Tennessee Lead on March 07, 2020, 10:03:06 PM
I know that it's just built into them to allow them to operate in extreme conditions.
I've often read about it and heard others speak about it often.
I have had mine for 20 years and I really don't pay attention to it.
With that said I took mine apart for a deep cleaning today and started doing some research about it on YouTube.
I used Velcro tape on the pump slide and added a couple more pieces and have eliminated the rattle in my gun.
Below is the video explaining what I did.

JMHO....the rattle thing is overstated most times, been at this since the '60's. Worst rattle I ever had was a Browning BPS 12GA, least rattle guns I ever owned, Benelli Nova and Mossberg 835.

I may do this to mine just for kicks but I have to agree with JMHO on this.
When I firts got my 500 i remember thinking I dint like the rattle at all.
But then I forgot about it till this post.
