Edit: sorry guys but I have to end the special. I'm several days behind on orders and running out of slate again. I'll honor everybody who has contacted me to this point but I can't take any new orders until I'm caught up
Well guys it's right before the spring season so I'm going to do a special, $25+s&h(usps flat rate small box $8).
I made all of these calls myself this weekend and will be making more this coming week. They all are made Darrell Gibson style(he no longer makes these) exactly how he taught me using maple, walnut, purpleheart and bubinga. There are only two of the bubinga blanks, and I will make a couple more at this price out of padauk and bamboo if anybody is interested. Most of the maple and walnut have at least some figure, including 1 maple burl.
Please don't assume because I'm selling them so cheap I cut corners, I will never send out a call I don't think sounds good. I'm just a starting callmaker sucking up and doing what I need to build a good reputation, and unfortunately life has been hitting hard lately so I really need to sell some calls sold but I WILL NOT sacrifice my reputation as a craftsman.
First come gets first preference for choice of wood and figure, and this listing is for pots only, no strikers included. Any questions just message me on here, and Daryl gosey(ncbowjunkie) and sir-diealot have played my calls and can give their opinion. I only have so many pieces of slate but I will order more and honor this deal if I get more orders than I have pieces of slate
Edit: I currently don't have enough slate to finish the orders I have but I have more ordered and on the way. I'm still honoring this price for now just please understand it will take a little while longer while I wait for the slate to come in. Still let me know if you want to order one so I can have your pot ready to go just as soon as I get the slate!
Also the maple burl is sold, the Birdseye maple is gone but I'm going to get more of that this weekend, and I'm down to one bubinga and three bamboo blanks. Still several purpleheart and padauk blanks left, and plenty of figured walnut, ambrosia maple and curly maple!
I would be interested in a bamboo
Will do, I haven't made one out of solid bamboo yet but I can get that done tonight and once I'm sure it sounds good enough I'll get it on it's way to you. I'm trying to upload pics right now but the forum is fighting me over file type...

Tapatalk is the easiest way I've found to load pics.
Here's a pic of the pots. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200223/f4df8c81d8353b9446677c3742609920.jpg)

Thank you yelpy! I'm younger but I am not computer savvy....
I'm not a big computer geek either. I just go to Google play store on the cell phone. Get the Tapatalk app and use it to upload pics. Than uninstall it when I'm done. It uses up space in the phone and drains the battery.
I have this one from him that both looks and sound wonderful. Birdseye Maple with black slate surface.

Is slate the only surface option?
For right now yes, I haven't experimented with the other surfaces enough yet to have enough confidence in making them sound good enough to sell yet

Is the call on the left, in the row above the call marked sold still available? Also, do you take PayPal or what's accepted payment. I'm interested, thanks!
It is still available, and yes I do take paypal
Bumping this up for Aaron. Guys if your looking for a great hunting call at an outstanding price. You can't go wrong getting one of his pots. They sound great and look good also. He has been taught well by Darrell Gibson on getting the best sound from a call.

Aaron should check his PM's....
I'm sorry if you feel I missed one of your messages, I have been checking my inbox frequently and thought I had seen and responded to all of the messages I've received. But if I missed one I'm sorry, I've been extremely busy with work, multiple bad life events and filling all of the orders I have gotten in the order in which I've received them.
Your call is next on the list btw, and I'll be working on it tonight and tomorrow. It will be ready to ship by the time my mail lady comes around on Saturday.
Absolutely gorgeous pot! If he has any left buy 2!

I had responded that I would take one of the curly maple pots (assuming you still had the pots pictured for sale). If you're making me one then great! No harm, no foul... but you never responded stating that.
I also understand that life gets in the way.
Oh now I understand the confusion. There actually weren't any curly maple pots finished or in the pics, those were actually the beginnings of Birdseye figuring and one plain maple. If you want one of those I can have that out tomorrow, actual curly maple I have plenty of but none of it turned so that will take another day
After a day of fooling with the call I can say its probably the loudest slate iv owned. But it also gets quiet. I feel like I stole this call for what he's selling them for. Thanks bud!
I'm really glad you like it! Besides volume what do you think about the sound quality?
And yeah I am selling them pretty cheap, but I'm just starting out as a callmaker so I consider the lesser price a cost of business for trying to build a reputation. Would you believe I only started woodturning a year ago? Shoot I only learned how to make calls last March... but I have a helluva teacher and there are a lot of helpful people on here willing to help. And I make dental appliances in a high volume setting so I know how to really crank stuff out while paying serious attention to detail and maintaining high quality, so even at the lesser price I'm still making money, and right now every little bit helps even more than usual.
But I'm really excited to put my stuff in peoples hands and hear that they appreciate them, I don't usually get that at work and it gives me a sense of pride making these by hand, doing the best I can and having them turn out so well
I just ask one thing...
USE IT. These. Are tools meant to be used, not just sit on a shelf and look pretty. But who says tools can't be pretty too?
Also did you notice how the bottom is concave?
That's on purpose and for a point.
It's kinda hard to get right but you should be able to lay it on your leg and play it one handed. Then it'll play REALLY quiet and allow you to keep one hand on your shotgun, really useful when Tom is in sight but just out of range...
The sound quality is awesome it's really unlike any slate surface iv had before. And I noticed the concave bottom it looks great very clean call . And one thing is for sure I will use it! That's awesome work for only a year in imagine several more years! Thanks again!

If you still have the call pictured between the two walnut (I think) pots I will take it. Just need your PayPal address. Please PM me.
That one is already gone, and I don't have anymore of that wood
If there are any calls left to be had I'll take one also. I'm not too particular on wood choice but I do seem to prefer darker woods. Thanks.
got my calls yesterday. Aaron has been very helpful and i got my calls in about 4 days. i'm very new to the pot call addiction so my impressions are that of a novice...BUT
imo these are just gorgeous little calls. love the single hole style(don't know the actual term). i found them to play nicely and found a lot of variation in tone from the outside to the inside of the call

Got my call yesterday. Played it in the sugar shack over some beers last night. Beautiful call, feels good in hand and has nice tone all around. Looking forward to May..
