Title: Multiple Beard Clarification
Post by: Gobblestopper on February 12, 2011, 02:45:33 PM
Can you please clarify what officially constitutes a true multiple bearded turkey.

Does each beard have to come out of a completely different rootstalk that is completely separate from the other Beard(s) or is it only one root stalk with distinct  "split" rootstalk "branches" that the multiple beards come out of.

I have only shot one turkey that had three distinct beard "branches" that measured 4.5, 6.5 and 11.5 inches, but all three originated out of only one main root stalk. Would that have been considered a multiple beard bird?

Thanks

Gobblestopper,

There has to be skin between beards.
