Title: 2021 Trip Planning
Post by: zelmo1 on June 09, 2019, 03:35:01 PM
Whose season is generally going hot during the last week of April. I am going to try and plan a trip for my daughters April vacation. We have non hunterfriends that live in Northeastern Nebraska that could be a starting or ending point. I am thinking around that area we will find mostly hybrids. Looking for a merriam or rio since those are the farthest away for me. Any info will be appreciated, not a snob, lol. We will go to the best spot for that time frame. Thanks, Al Baker

I would like to drive so I can take our gear. My wife is a great driver. She made the round trip from NH to Nebraska and back on her own. We will fly if it is a time thing. We are in NH. Open to all doable trips

If you're driving and don't mind putting miles on I'd start in NE then head up to SD hit there then WY the drop down to KS catch a few Rios and head back up to NE Nebraska. You'll pass through Nebraska a couple times with 3 tags available there too you could bring home a pile of birds and a couple new subspecies under your belt as well.

Mo, Ks, Ne was a thought. Ne, SD were also an option. I won't have enough time to do it with my wife and daughter. We will only have about 10 days. Thinking of flying to Nebraska then renting an suv. Shipping al our gear to our friends in NE NEB

We are in Southeastern Colorado and just picked up some ground in Southeastern Wyoming. Pure Merriams, 100% on birds, and you will feel right at home with us!

What are you doing still thinking about about turkeys? Your supposed to be way north by now in the big sea!

Dave at Hitlist is top notch, very reasonable and flexible. Me and friends have hunted with him for years.. PM me if you need more details.

I can't help it, there is just something about those little boogers that drives me crazy! Thank you, can't wait to see you again next year! We just got into Seward a few days ago and we are headed out on our second three day trip tomorrow....it's about to get super busy.

What defines a "trophy" Merriam's?
