Title: 2-3/4” Hevi-13 12 gauge
Post by: Escout711 on April 15, 2019, 11:49:43 AM
I picked up a couple of boxes of 2 3/4" Hevi-13 on sale for $5/box. Anyone have experience with the 2 3/4"? I'm wondering how these would compare to a 3" Longbeard for turkey killing?

Numbers wise, they aren't gonna compete. However, at 40 yards they should provide an adequate killing pattern with the right choke and absolutely hammer a gobbler.

I tried them in #6 and they provide a fine hunting pattern at 40 yards. Does not look like a 3.5 pattern, but it will certainly get the job done.

That's we use in Gus's 1100.  The hevi 6s and LB 5s are pretty close.
