Title: Strange beards
Post by: Duckdogdad on April 08, 2019, 10:23:34 PM
I shot a tom a couple weeks ago with a 10.5 inch beard which was about as big around as straw. Didn't see a second beard until I picked it up. Second beard was a short, ropey beard. Majority of beard was only two inches long. Looked like it had been cut off evenly with scissors. Small portion of the second beard was about 4 inches long and caramel or wheat colored on the end.

I read about beard rot today which is caused by poor nutrition. Spurs were 1 1/8th with sharp, white tips.  Weighed nearly 23 pounds so I am having a hard time with poor nutrition. Anyone ever experience anything like this?

The small beard that looked cut off may have been hit with a couple shot pellets.
