Title: Opinions on my call and striker setup
Post by: RiverRoost on April 07, 2019, 10:00:32 PM
The three pots I'm toting are Halloran crystal mistress, Halloran ceramic and a Halloran green slate. I've got his two piece dymondwood striker, a stuckeys macassar ebony and a one piece Halloran bloodwood and one pice hickory striker. Is there any point or difference with the hickory and bloodwood for the pots I'm carrying or can I replace one with a different wood?

I would replace one with a carbon rod striker for damp conditions. Both bloodwood and Hickory are great. I would just add 1 more striker

I have the CM, and dymondwood and the Stuckey mac ebony are both great on it. I agree, for damp weather you need a carbon fiber or carbon tipped striker. Then again, you might not want to have your wood pots out in the wet and I don`t know if David`s ceramic is " wet weather rated ". If not, look at an aluminum from Enticer.

Only other wood striker you might seriously consider would be a tulipwood. Otherwise, I think you`ve got the wood strikers covered IMHO.
