Title: Federal TSS 9's out of a Carlsons LB choke?
Post by: twyatt on March 31, 2019, 12:09:32 PM
With the Federal TSS 9's and my Indian Creek 555 my pattern is pretty darn tight at 20 and great at 40.   With my Carlsons 575 my pattern is great at 20 and fair at 40.
I'm considering getting something in between the 2 for a happy medium.  Something like 565.   Can the TSS 9's be shot out of the Carlsons Longbeard choke?  That's a .568 I believe, and should be perfect, or is the standard Carlsons 565 a better option.   I'm not familiar enough with the designs and wads to know what the Lonbeard chokes' purpose is and if it would help or hinder TSS.
Or is there a better option for something in between that's not $70+ dollars.

Don't see why not.  The longbeard chokes shoot the federal heavyweight loads (12 and 20 gauge) EXTREMELY well.  My SBE II is insane with that choke and heavyweights and the 20 gauge was are that much more responsive to chokes...
