I have made 75 calls this winter and am keeping 3 for myself. I am going crazy doing side by side comparisons. I have to choose quickly so I don't get divorced. I am definitely keeping my 3" slate/aluminum in a padauk pot. Next 2 are killing me, 3" slate over maple in a wenge is high on my list. Now I have to pick a crystal or glass, Killing me. Which 3 are your favorites. Just curious, no wrong answers here.
Can U post a sound clip
Post up a soundfile if you can. It's difficult to choose by wood and surface unless your biased on the surfaces.

I will try, I have an iPhone that can probably engineer a trip to mars, so I know its capable. I just need to figure it out. Old school values are great, but I suck at technology. :OGturkeyhead:
so if you can't post a sound file...how would we judge? What will we base our decision on?
There isn't a Holy Grail as far as turkey calls. Some work on different days. Take this advice to your wife, turkey calls are like her shoes, some just shine on different days. Take some hunting that you believe are your best and let the birds decide. When the season is over, part with the ones that don't meet with the birds or your approval.

Best reply I've seen yet.
My favorites seem to always follow the same ingredients:
Low maintenance
Not finicky
Plays well with several strikers
Plays across the whole surface - don't have to search for one spot
Can make any sound I want... when I want (that's a big one)
Grab a glass or crystal that just sounds right - every time. Don't get too hung up on the spalted macadamian ambrosia wenge burl combos ;D
And heck, if you end up not liking it - make some more!
I was asking what your 3 favorites were. I will try to post a sound file this weekend. Just hard for me to choose cuz I love them all :turkey2:
You need a good slate, good glass or crystal and a good copper or aluminum to change it up. Woods can be Osage and walnut both will work for them all . I like aluminum sound board in glass and crystal glass or slate for copper or aluminum if you have to only pick 3 calls. Good luck with the wife
