Any opinions on this gun? I'm thinking about picking one up and sending some TSS through it.
I have three 20 gauge turkey guns and this is my favorite! I bought it when they called it the SA 20 Turkey Thug. The gun has been the demise of several gobblers and is light as a feather! I shoot a Carlsons 575 turkey out of mine with Federal TSS #9.
I had 2 of them...it's a flat out killer..and very light. can't beat it for the money

I want the bantam with the 24" barrel.

I just picked one up also. Light as a feather and already has the picatinny rail. I have a Carlsons 575 and 10 boxes of TSS 9's, just waiting on it to warm up.

Can I ask what your other 2 are?
Excellent choice! I've heard they are made in the same plant as the Weatherby's. Not 100% sure on that though. They come with Dead Ringer Beard Buster sights and a picatinny rail. It's ready for optics out of the gate. I have the WBY SA 459, but would definitely buy this gun.
My other two guns are the Tri Star Raptor 20 gauge youth and the Mossberg 500 with a 22 inch barrel. I use the Carlsons 575 out of each gun, as a matter of fact the Tri star and the Mossberg SA 20 use the same choke tubes. All three guns pattern great! The SA 20 turkey just seems a little lighter than the others and it was my first 20 gauge venture! My son plans to use the 500 this year as we just got it and he really likes the way it shoots! I will alternate between the other two as both are hard on the gobblers!
Ive the regular mossberg Sa-20, i believe its one of the first gens. I made a couple of spring modifications for loading and dropping the bolt. Also opened the gas port up a little to allow it to run el-cheapo shells. Other than those mods its a solid gun. Put a carlson's long beard choke in it last year when i got it for my son to shoot and it did ok. Picked up a box of the federal Tss and shot one yesterday to try out, deadly pattern.
Shot mine today at 20 an 40yds very impressed. I'd say u could past 40yds no doubt. With indian creek choke tss #7 (couldn't find 9's at the time) it's going to be a thumper
I have the old thug model, found a deal on it on gun broker 2 years ago, sweet little gun to carry around and mine patterned excellent with the stock turkey choke, I think its around a 580, sweet 25 yard pattern and plenty at 40.
Ive killed my last 10-12 birds with it, only one further than 30 yards though, about 36 maybe?
Shooting hand loaded tss 9.5 or 9 shot. I did have one malfunction on the bird I shot at 36, will trim the hulls before crimping this time! That was the only malfunction I have had though!
Great gun!
I traded my 835 in for one, and haven't looked back!
I'm getting one for next season for sure...just need to see if the TSS or LB #6 are best.
I'm considering getting a sa20. Hows the trigger on it? I see M-carbo has a simple trigger spring replacement for it.

No question there. The LBs won't even be in the same league as TSS. Just depends if you want to pay the premium for premium performance.

Didn't notice anything good or bad with mine, haven't shot it yet this spring so nothing recent but if it were an issue I would have noticed!

Get the gun then get the M*CARBO trigger spring kit. I didn't think the trigger was as bad as some of the other new shotguns but it would hold the weight of the gun. The M*CARBO trigger return spring made a big difference and they are great people to deal with.

For sure on the MCarbo!
