Title: Henry single shot 12 gauge
Post by: Laloom83 on March 03, 2019, 05:34:34 PM
Has anyone shot or patterned those new Henry single shot 12 gauges?  I'm thinking about getting one or trying to find an old H&R Pardner single shot with screw in chokes.  Any recommendations?

Henry is a great firearm manufacture. But I am baised for New England and H&R shotguns. Look on this forum for others experiences on here. Quite a few members here use William at Sumtoy to get him to thread the barrel and use one of his awesome chokes. The H&R/NEF are not being made any more and finding a factory threaded 20 gauge will be expensive for you.  I pick up almost every one I come across and I picked up a really decent 26" 20 gauge with a fixed modified choke barrel for a whopping 60 bucks. This  would be an awesome candidate to send to William for threading and a choke and would probably have less than 200 dollars in whole project. Check local trading papers and pawn shops. I have rarely paid more than a 100 for one.

 :morning:
My last single project was a 12ga Revelation made by Savage. Very light so I use a slip on Limbsaver pad...Very Necessary! Sent it to William and he cut and threaded the barrel so I can use my Remchokes.
He also installed a scope base for my red dot. I'm using Win's Long Beards and it is absolutely a killer at all huntable distances!!! I use it when I have to hunt public lands that require a lot of walking. No regrets on the 225 dollars invested!   :camohat:

JMHO..........It's a $400 single shot, only walnut, only plus side is it's threaded for Rem-chokes.
