My son in law asked me for a feather to paint. This is the result of his first try. I gave him some tail feathers to try next.
Looks real good My wife has done a handful for me. I don't keep a ton of full fans around so its a neat way to commemorate a particular bird or hunt
He did a very nice job.
Pretty good job.
That's great. I saw some at the show this year that were incredible. I would love to have one.

My first attempt at doing that would look like you took the feather and dipped it in a bucket of cooking oil. Your son-in-law did a great job, especially for his first attempt.

Awesome job!
So I have painted canvas in the past, and am curious to what type of paint you all use for these great looking feathers (acrylic, oil, etc)

I've shared them here before but I'll attach them again here are the feathers my wife has done for me, one she painted for a wounded warrior hunt, and a saw she painted for her grandfather.
I wish she had more time I'm always impressed with her work an it makes a really unique way to commemorate hunts.
