Title: H&R 20 GA
Post by: Ben1100mag on February 13, 2019, 02:25:57 PM
I have an H&R 20 Ga with a fixed modified choke. Will the Winchester long Beards work well in it with the fixed choke ?

Probably not pass 25yd with a decent pattern. But you need to shoot the LB to see how the gun will pattern

Nope. I had same problem, getting anything comfortable past 25 yds. Had mine sent to sum-toy to have a choke put in it.

What is your barrel length after getting threaded?

Same here.  William's done a couple for me.  They are SHOOTERS !!!!!!

No change in barrel length to thread it.  Whatever it is now............that's what it'll be.

Good to hear.  I talked to a local guy that threads a lot of barrels and he said he has to cut it back so far for thickness before he threads.  I wasn't crazy about that idea.

The modified H&R barrels have enough meat at the muzzle to go right at it with the threading.

Another question, does the thread pitch matter?  I'd like mine done for a Rem choke. If s there enough meat to not cut and thread for the Rem chokes?

Thanks
