Title: Plenty of turkeys but no gobbling?
Post by: bigthunderchicken on April 27, 2011, 09:09:34 PM
Dr. Lovett I have found plenty of turkey tracks, dusting sites, and a strut mark but our turkeys hardly ever gobble. When they do they shut up when they fly down. The hens are already nesting. I was wondering if you have any ideas about what the problem is. We have quite a few predators on our place. In the last 4 days I have seen 3 foxes, 1 stray dog, and a coyote. Any ideas?

bigthunderchicken,

I don't why your turkeys don't gobble.  They gobble where a coyotes are numerous such is out west.
