I just a bought a rem 1187 shur shot shooting it with a jh .660 with hevi 3.5 7's just shot this combo at thirty yards at 10 inch circle
all of my pattern wa about 8 inches to the right and down about two. My season starts in a couple days. What do you think the problem is?????? Thanks guys really need your help oh yeah im just using the tru glo sights it came with
nothing, you just need adjustable sights... Plenty of turkey guns POA and POI don't match with tight turkey chokes and fixed sights
Ok are you right handed. Check to see if you may be rolling the gun to the left if you are. Trigger pull and gun roll both small but added up to make one big problem.
Now get cheap shells (9's or 8's). Put target at 50 to 60 feet. Then shoot the gun. Try stock full choke and the other choke. This will help see if you have bad choke or the gun is off. Both choke shoot same it gun if they don't look into a different choke. If you find it is the gun put rifle sights on it for fast fix.
I know its def not the way im shooting-it may bethe choke i bought it used off another member on here. Just looked and my sights they are adjustable.. now if im shooting to the right and a little low. do i move my sights to the right?? i forgot which way that works

Move the rear sight to the left... All adjustments you want to move POI to POA not POA to POI....
So if your pattern is low right, move it left up....
Thanks for the quick response guys really appreciate it
good luck
now i just made a dumb mistake, put a rabit round in must be to light and the gun didnt cycle right the shell is stuck any suggestions
Take the barrel off and run a dowel rod down the barrel and knock the hull out
Open the action and bump the shell out with a cleaning rod.

Ha. I do it all the time. Just open the action fully and pull the shell out. To shoot light loads you will need to install the barrel seal activator, if they still make them like my old one.
thanks ill try it
The action wont budge it opens about 1/4inch and i could see the bottom of the shell in the barrel
I have had this happen before. Here is what I have done, (you can if you want to). Put the butt stock on the ground, put your foot on the charging handle and push down. (NOTE: I AM GUESSING YOU HAVE ALREADY SHOT THE SHELL THAT IS IN THE CHAMBER.)
Well unscrew the cap and remove the forearm and pull barrel off.

Never had it stuck that hard. I would take the barrel off before I stood on the handle. If you get that shell out, there is no reason that it won't open easy.
I have had to slam the pump open before...(the shell WAS ALREADY SHOT) ... and i've even had the shell brass bend and the breach actually rip off the shell... so I ended up taking the barrel off... Fun stuff
Sounds like the link is broke or bent brake the gun down and check it.

If the hull is coming back a bit and sticking, it does sound like the link is broken or something is wrong with the plunger.
whew I finally got it out. Took it to gander mountain. The little ejection tab was grabbing it. Must have been the light load shot out of it. I bought some cheaper winchester 3 inch shots and adjusted my sights- then shot the hevi shot 7's omg i have never had such a good pattern. I cant wait till sunday. Thanks alot everyone I really appreciate the help !!!!! :anim_65:
