Title: The Biscuit Bird

I'm gonna make this one short and sweet.

I paired up with good friends Freddy & Amy on our annual Wheelin' Sporstmen hunt this past Saturday and once again I was smiled upon by the Hunting Gods. We set up on the same farm where I killed my bird on last year's hunt. As it was drizzling rain we got settled in amongst a triangle of cedar trees at 5:45.

It was a quick hunt by my standards.  This bird gobbled at 6:15 and I told Freddy to "Throw his hat in the ring", in other words let him know we're here. The bird came off the roost around 6:30 or so. Freddy and I double-teamed him with some sweet talk and the bird was dead at 7:00. The bird is my heaviest to date, right at 23 ½ lbs. This was just icing on the cake as we had our best Wheelin' hunt ever.

Even had time to get a biscuit before meeting back with the others.

Both of us are a little wet.

View from the blind, we were nested in the cedar trees. Turkey was standing just to the left of the struttin' deke when I shot. Killed a bird last year on our Wheelin' hunt in almost exact same spot.

Congrats on a fine tom!

That blind will work!  It disappears under the shadows of those cedars.

Oh yeh, I have a trophy shot wearing the "One Track Mind" cap.  Gotta get that downloaded and posted up soon. :smiley-char092:
