Title: Yak Traxs
Post by: mossy835 on February 11, 2011, 06:08:27 PM
So with all of the snow, ice and slippery sidewalks and parking lots now do any of you use Yak Traxs? They really do work out here where the snow is wet and slippery, available on line and Cabala's and many sporting goods stores.

Yeah they help a bunch.  All the mailmen in my town wear them too.

Yes they work real well ,but sharp rocks and cold temps do them in fast .

There are three or maybe more kinds available at Cabala's now. I have the walk around style for my wife and my self and the heavy duty style for my hunting boots. I did not try the ones that are studded (carbide tips I think) and they might be even more rugged than the ones I have. I keep a set at the back door and in each car during the winter as we get a lot of black ice here near the coast and frozen snow in eastern WA. The coldest I have ever had them on was in WA 20 degree weather with out any issues, but I have not used them around rocks and I can see how they could get cut up.
