Went to Turkey Trot Acres today which I refer to as the new Nashville of the Northeast and scored some great calls. I got a Marlin Watkins Macasser Ebony/Pear, Bloodwood/ spalted apple and a snakewood trumpet. I also bought a McKamey and blue Mahoe and a Paul Platz glass cherry pot. Awesome time.
Congratulations, hope to go and get some stuff next year.
Awesome haul......
Workin fool says awesome calls.......... :blob10:
Great haul!
That pear sounded great. I was having a hard time picking between it and the pecan.

I believe Saturday was a steak and lobster dinner and gun raffle run by the NWTF

I would think people would still be selling stuff though? I could be wrong, I have never been there.

There's a little bit going on very early on Saturday, but Friday is the big day. Hopefully I'll have my list caught up on enough by next year that I can have a table. Maybe we can get some "Old Gobbler" tee shirts by then. Would love to meet all you guys.

I have a few of the 10th anniversary patches and was thinking on doing up a hat and then one on a backpack so people on the site would notice me, that way they could know to walk away.
it was a great weekend at Turkey Trot, I will go back next year for sure!
It was my first time there. Won't be my last. Pete and Sherry at Turkey Trot put on a awesome time. It was great meeting all the call makers and the call makers that made calls for me in the past. Great putting a face with the call. Makes the call more special now. So glad I went. Met a couple OG members there. I have had a long box coming from Scott Witter and he took some time, gave me some much crucial needed lessons. How cool is that ! I thanked and talked with Witter, Platz, Watkins, Fetters, Schaffer, Pettit, Strawser and more....great bunch of guys. My wife wouldn't believe me when I got home, that I didn't buy a call while I was there. But I did order a another call the next day.....SSSsshhh !
Gary, it was good to meet you in person. Agreed this is a super shin-dig by Pete & Sherry and how great to be able to gather with other callmakers outside of the Nashville chaos and also be able to talk some serious turkey with fellow turkey fanatics
Scott
Every things east!! Somebody needs to do one of these in Chicago,,the call makers would set personnel records on sales for a weekend from the starved for high end calls midwest turkey hunters.

Every things East? What else is there other than this and the yearly NWTF state conventions? I always felt everything is Midwest and South myself.
I would love to learn of more on the East Coast!

How about an hour west of Chicago lol !!! I have no desire to ever step foot in Chicago. It would be nice to have something in the Midwest though. I have never heard of anything being around here If there is anything.
If they had a show in the Midwest , it wouldn't take long for the tables to be cleaned off
Actually the biggest muskie expo is in Chicago 28 years now,,at a beautiful facility called pheasant run with is outside Chicago well over 100 tackle and resort vendors,,Chicago deep dish pizza,Italian beef sandwiches and we have a swap meet party at night where everybody brings their tackle to trade which would be totally cool if you did it with turkey calls and gear.
I agree high end call makers would be cleaned out and their order waiting list a mile long.
Fine bunch of calls!!
