What was the one call that you never used before this year that got you the most responses? Mine was a Loftis Crystal screamer.
Spring Creek yellowheart over black limba hewn short box. I was impressed.
Fulkerson hen box. Superb caller.
A couple of new Buice trumpets. Called in several birds with both of my new ones
Stumpy maple ceramic

Cut my pot calling teeth on those calls year ago and they flat out killed birds too.
Richard Hudson Macassar Ebony over English Walnut Hen Box
Brazilian Cherry over Butternut that came from PA and the maker is Russel Beard. Beard Hunter Custom Turkey Calls that Cut N Run gave me when I first got here.

Enticer Silver Thunder Extreme aluminum
Richard hudson snakewood over english walnut.
Mike Lapp coyote wood longbox.
A GOOD SLATE CALL
Lonzo's Cocobola Anodized Aluminum over Aluminum in particular had the birds going crazy for me this year, but I used a handful of different alums from Lon and had success with many and got responses from them all.
Brad Roberts green slate in a cedar pot.
Not a new call but my Lancaster Jatoba/Holly was the money call for me this year!

Great success with scratch boxes this year, and my favorite of these was one made by Austy Bott, Bois De Rose and Butternut...........Just some good clucks and believable yelps
Bent creek cane yelper. :icon_thumright:
Not new...but 1st time hunted...Russel Beard bloodwood over walnut longbox
well I've used it before but the most consistent call I ran was an L&L cedar scratch box I run with a cedar striker from Russell Beard it almost never fails me and the call I have the most confidence in. Second would be a Terry Baker bloodwood/Butternut short box
Best new call would have been a Fetter Rosewood Walnut Longbox
Roberts cedar green slate. I was really impressed with the response this call got this year
Vancise box & Lea Tube about equal, Mike
Mike Lapp short box Yellowheart over Black Limba

Mike Lapp short box Yellowheart over Black Limba
:icon_thumright: I love Mikes boxes!!
Eddie Wynne persimmon slate and a preacherman wenge over persimmon shorty box wore em pit hear in north Florida this year
I was on a mission this year with trumpets and wingbones and had some success with them but one call that I got instantaneous gobbles from was a Jeff White granadillo over black limba short box. Once that back end hit they responded instantly. I did call in a couple birds but didn't get to pull the trigger. I have tremendous confidence in this call and had to order a long box from him in the same combo .
Well it's not "New" but my Cody World Class Slate has been the end of more turkeys than all the calls I have ever had... combined.
MK M GOBL
I had a good year w responsive birds, the one newly used call that was fantastic this year was a cedar over butternut longbox by McKamey
Jeff White maple/cedar here. That Jeff White grandillo/black limba is a serious player.

Spring Creek yellowheart over black limba hewn short box. I was impressed.
Just ordered one from Mike last week. Read lots of good things about that combo.
Mine was a Pat Strawser greenslate in a cedar pot. Lonzo ceramic in a Birdseye maple pot and two of Lon Mabry's calls. Walnut over Purple Heart box and his cedar slate.
marlin watkins bloodwood over apple fiddle box
It varys from year to year. Over all it was a H.S. Strut Lil' Duece slate until I dropped it and broke the slate. The last 10 years I would say it's a tie between a Gary Taylor(Stone Road Turkey Calls) cherry pot/slate and Woodhaven Cherry Classic slate.
Bill Lyman cedar slate

:TooFunny:
That's funny Don, do you think it's because it has a "different" sound, or does it sound really good?

It really does sound pretty good.
I called for my daughter on a KITS Black Widow on our home turf on Youth Day. I chose the FoxPro (along with a Kimble purpleheart over mahogany paddle caller) to go west for Merriam's because it will go SO freakin' loud if need be. Ended up doing well out there with it. So when I got back home it went along with me here.
