I plan on blowing up this forum this summer as I continue to build and test calls so I hope y'all don't get sick of me!
Here's a zebrawood slate/glass, sassafras slate/slate and sassafras slate/glass. The zebrawood has the clearer tone of a younger hen while the sassafras is that of an older hen.
Thanks for looking!(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180605/f50ddf1a1832bea8035f57b1e4333501.jpg)

I can't decide if I like the first or third the most. All sound good though. The little one has a pretty laugh.
Man your killing it! Great calls. Keep posting them

Agree, you're turning out some killers!
Calls sound very good and you can play a pot very well. You can probably make most any pot sound good.
Oh yes.
Bring it on!
That slate/slate sounds very GOOD to my ear.
These sound great..i just got a maple slate/slate...its gonna see a lot of hunting time!!
Yes, keep them coming. I think all three are super nice but I thing the sassafras slate/glass is a killer.
They sound awesome. Keep em coming!

Really like the sound of the sassafras slate/glass. Keep em coming
Keep em coming. Sounding good.
Excellent sound, really like the glass over slates, especially the Sassafras. I bet a hickory striker sounds real good on it too.
That slate in sasafrass sounds awesome

I really appreciate the feedback guys. This forum is a wonderful resource for someone just starting to build calls. I'm glad there's other people out there obsessed with pot calls!
I'm about to venture into the glass/crystal world so stay tuned. I also have some chestnut coming that I think will make some awesome slate calls. I'll be posting several calls for sale in the next few days so those that haven't blown through their call fund keep an eye out

Man, that Sassafras slate over glass is killer.
Dude, I think they all nailed it. They sound as good as anything out there. It sure helps that you can really run a pot call. Excellent!!!!
Do you have a soundfile/video of soft calling with the slate/slate?

I'll actually post it on here. The dymondwood isn't the best for toning down but it will give you a good idea of what it sounds like.

Really like the simplistic pot design. An angled concave side is by far my favorite

That's always been my favorite as well. This design has always felt the best in my hand. I went with the 7 hole design to be a little different than most pots.
A simple design makes it easier to throw a dud away.
