Title: Question for a DIY pot builder
Post by: tpcollins on March 22, 2018, 01:38:27 PM
For a DIY project, I bought a cedar pot and a crystal top and glass sound board. I'll coat Tung-Oil on the inside and out on the pot enough times until I'm satisfied with the finish.

My question is which adhesive to use? I see a lot of reference to using Liquid Nails. I'm wondering if this is to maintain a resilient bond versus a typical hard type bond. But I've seen Liquid Nails get hard over time so I'm wondering if there's anything better.

If the intent is to keep the bond flexible, would clear silicone work just as well or even better, or is Liquid Nails better because of it's adherence to to wood? Thanks.

Plumbers Goop.

Probably the majority of call builders use it. Some use e6000. I use plumbers goop.

Sounds good enough for me, $4 at Walmart - I'll get some next time I go, thanks.
