I've been wanting to give these two a try, but don't know much about them and don't have anywhere close that has them. What's the good and bad on these two brands? I'm talking full line of calls from mouth to box to pots.
Thanks
Houndstooth builds some great stuff, really quality mouth calls and pots that I've ran. Lyle is great to deal with too

I called in a 22 pound longbeard with sharp 1-3/16 inch spurs for my grandfather 2 springs ago with an American Strutter yellowheart over walnut box call. That's my only experience with the two companies mentioned.
Lyle makes a great ceramic pot

Thanks guys. Keep the comments coming.
Houndstooth's crystal over slate is a very underrated call. Lyle is a great guy to deal with.
Hey Chris just give me a call if ya like! We're just a turkey hunting family that builds calls that started from building my own mouth calls and friction calls as we still do! Some one made the comment the other day we were a big company but with me and my son and wife I hate to see when we get real big ????????????! Thanks for all the nice comments guys and give me a call if I can help my number is on the website. www.houndstoothgamecalls.com ~LG
I can tell you about ceramic pots from the convention. I had a goal to play all the top ceramic pots there. 5 or 6 different makers. American strutter and Houndstooth were on the list. In the end I bought the houndstooth. It sounded the best and played easy. Lyle was a good guy to deal with also. I can't speak for their entire lines of calls but from my very limited exposure is give the nod to Lyle.

Thanks guys. I had the chance to try some American Strutters and although they sounded great, they just didn't do it for me. So I'll more than likely be trying some Houndstooth before the season rolls around. Thanks again for the comments and help.
