Got the call from him last week that my time had come and today this gorgeous trumpet by L.F. Cox arrived. A beautiful piece of cocobolo with the silver turkey ferrule and a buffalo horn mouthpiece. To say I'm happy is a gross understatement. Frank makes an incredible call. A work of art. Can't wait to use it this spring.

Wow that thing is sweet. Congrats on a fine instrument..
My Lord that is beautiful!! I'm dying to get on his list to see if he'd build me one! Any info would be much appreciated
Great call!
I need to get on his list, what's the normal waiting time
I just got on the list!!! Do you typically ask for a wood preference or just let him pick it out? I've never seen a bad call made my Mr. Cox just wondering how the process normally goes.
^^^ I have personally specified all of the specifics of all of my Cox trumpets (approximate length of call (short vs standard), wood type, ferrule (brass, silver, engraved) and mouthpiece (ivory, buffalo horn). With that said, some combinations cost more than others. Like most buyers, your budget will drive your selection, and the number of choices you have. Bottom line, if he turns it, and is willing to sell it after inspecting it, it is a superb piece of craftsmanship and it is full of turkey; no ifs, ands or buts about it. Good luck with your decision.
