I'm on a walnut kick for some reason. It may be my all time favorite wood.
Anyways, who makes the best walnut slate? I'm sure Dawkins made a killer one, but I don't think he makes them anymore. I may see if Lonzo can make me one.

Blackstone makesa good walnut slate. I've got a sneed walnut slate that sounds pretty good. Mac won the virginia nwtf competition with a walnut slate also.
x2 For blackstone.
Mark Cornelius.
I have a Mabry Walnut slate I may trade
Don't be afraid of Brumfiel, Yingling, or misfire calls or Scott Hock they are all great
Hook up with Mike Yingling on here.
Talk to him about what you want.
You won't be disappointed.
And, you might as well pickup one of his fiber rod strikers, they run really well on most calls, in all weather.
:z-winnersmiley:
Turns out Lonzo doesn't make walnut calls

I really like this one by Wildflower :). The Honeysuckle Classic: https://www.wildflowercalls.com/the-honeysuckle/the-honeysuckle
My favorite walnut slate is Scott Hocks...it's a killer. Easy to play and very forgiving with any striker.
