The surfaces I use are:

Bill Lyman dymondwood if you can find one, tulipwood, macassar ebony, B&W ebony, yellowheart, snakewood, and persimmon. All of the above are outstanding and I have many more from Bill that are just as good.
Lyman or West Augusta dymondwood or Snakewood.
I really like chakte viga and it seems to play on every surface.

I have heard nothing but great things about Bill Lyman but my suggestion is to the wood choices only
Tulip wood
Osage
Bloodwood
Black Locust
Carbon fiber for wet
Hickory
Purple Heart are all great choices and I know I left some out
ASH, Rosewood, Dymondwood, Fiddle back maple and for sure Hook Gobble sticker in Ipe this is a must regardless of any other striker you could own , you can order this striker from Midwest turkey supply

I got my fiddle back maple from Cureton Hollr he makes call's and strikers, you can check him out on line ...
seem to keep going to my Fowler snakewood for my choice
macassar ebony and rosewoods Id add, be careful to not over do it. Get a couple good ones and be done with it. If your not careful you'll end up with a shoe box full of strikers..
Purple Heart and black locust for slate

Purple Heart and black locust for slate
X2 can't go wrong on this combo
John Sinclair's gaboon ebony run great on ever call I have .
For day in day out most times I just grab a dymondwood. It runs on almost everything. Most makers used to include at least most of this type. I'm also fond of snakewood and tulipwood. Harold Fowler would be a guy I'd try
I placed a order with Harold Fowler about 3 weeks ago. I got a Tulipwood, Black Locust and Snakewood, he even threw in a Hickory striker for free. Great guy to do business with and of coarse the strikers were great. I have several of the ones guys listed on this thread already, Just wanted to try some new woods on my calls. Thanks for all the advice and input guys. :thanks:
