Just saw in the Midwest Turkey Call that David's got a new Laminate Green Slate.. Peruvian walnut, zebrawood, and poplar laminate.

I just had him make me a zebrawood Crystal mistress "WOW" if you thought the original sang!!! I would get it in zebrawood he's got that wood dialed in.

How did you get in touch with him? I've been trying to get him to make me an over n under Crystal Mistress for two years now

I tried that too for about the same amount of time!  Seems like it would be a homerun.  I have never had a reply.

I think with shipping around $84 that also included 2 strikers too. One dymondwood and one hickory.

Don't know what to tell ya,,I inquired about a CM in zebrawood for something different I also inquired about one in blue mahoe and he said "yes" I have some excellent ZW right now,,which it is. I placed order around thanksgiving and had call Xmas week I'm no preferred special customer. I've had the regular CM but one in zebrawood is the difference between a 6 cyl dodge challenger and a Hemi.

His customer service stinks!!  I don't care how good his calls are, I'll never give him any more of my business.

I've had no issues with his customer service whatsoever.

Yea I'm trying to get his new Zebrawood Aluminum! Been trying to get a call since last May????.... He did finally talk to me recently and said to wait till February so I'm ok w that if that's what It takes because he is awesome I can't deny the sound, but its damn near impossible to get ahold of him

he seem very hit or miss, i know last year someone posted a thread about a negative experience with getting a hold of him and getting an order filled. I called him the same week got him on the phone first try, we chatted and he made me some custom mouth calls to different specs than his online offerings and I had em the week after that.

I will give him this, everything I've ever tried that he built has been absolutely turkey I don't think I've had one miss from pots, strikers, mouth calls, or box. Is he extremely busy and lacking in the customer service dept yeah sounds like it but some guys you just have to understand and plan accordingly.

Also have never had a problem. Have a few different calls, and always had a positive experience. I believe most of my contact was through email though.

David makes some killer calls!!  I've owned his crystal mistress since they first come out 6-7 yrs ago I believe....it's in my vest every spring and gets a lot of use! I'm sure this one will be another home run!!

I will agree that he makes good sounding calls and he is a nice guy to talk with. I have dealt with him a lot in the past and had great service . But I agree with some of the bad customer service, I am still waiting on a call he said he had ready to ship, I paid for it up front and have had to follow up several times. It's been 5 weeks now of back and forth emails, still no call in the mail yet.  ???

He's actually been pretty responsive lately. He's building me a call I'm super excited about.

I second that, never had a issue, always nice to me, great service, 24 year old daughter killed a nice, over worked, 3 year old Tom with his Crystal Mistress at 5:50 am, May 28th, NY...she thinks his calls are great, got back home in time for breakfast !

I never had a problem w him. Never personally knew anyone had a problem w him cept for a bit longer time than stated originally. Guy has a life besides calls. Many makers are way longer or actually don't ever call ya back. Amazing to me Halloran gets all the slack. His calls are good. Yea his customer service could be a little more prompt. Order accordingly than.

David is a great guy and has several new style calls coming out this year.   Looking forward to seeing them all in person

His website has been updated for 2018 if you guys didn't know.

I ordered his new laminate/green slate, ebony striker (not sure what kind), ceramic, and Macassar Ebony over Black Limba short box.

Waiting to hear back regarding a custom pot request.

I asked David when I ordered my laminate slate, and he said the striker was macassar ebony, so I bought one too!

Curious what other new pots he may have coming out?

Just a heads up. After reading this thread I ordered a crystal mistress from Hallorans website and received it in 6 days. I'm happy with that service, I wouldn't hesitate ordering another call from him.

I ordered his new zebra poplar peru walnut laminate slate today. Im looking forward to seeing it come in the mail so i can hear it. 

When some one hears the aluminum and slate let us know! I'm holding out after I seen his slate even tho I know if he mass produced a Zebrawood Aluminum it's a smoker but I bet his slate is too! Been waiting for a soundfile or review :funnyturkey:

I ordered the zebrawood laminate last night. Hope to see it soon!  I have his solid zebrawood slate and it's he best slate call I've ever played. It was the death of 3 birds in 3 hunts within a week last season.

I ordered one as well on January 23rd, waiting for it anxiously to come in the mail.

Is everyone going through his site? Or has Midwest got there stock in yet? I see it avertised all over there magazine they sent.

I called the last day or 2 of January and they said they were waiting on the shipment from David.  I placed my order through his website, and it appears it was shipped out yesterday, and I expect to have it by Monday.

My Zebrawood Laminate slate just came in today! Ordered it Thursday night. Granted I live only about an hour from David. This call is a killer!!

I tried to call him several times last year.  I left messages and everything. It was during turkey season, but he should have had someone answer the phone or gotten back to me after the season. There's plenty of other call makers that turn out good stuff and don't mind spending a couple of minutes on the phone even if they are busy.
