Had two gems waiting on me in the mailbox today. Jimmy Schaffer's new model of his teardrop slate and a Ernie Fetters longbox with a Osage lid over a Butternut box. Jimmy's new teardrop is deadly. For those who have the original, the new one is a good deal deeper in sound and he also paired it with a "longer than normal" hickory striker which in my opinion is great for playability with this call! As far as Ernie's box goes....WOW. A ton of birds to be found in this box and it runs so incredibly easily! Great craftsmanship to boot. Definitely will not be my last from Mr. Fetters! It's looking a lot better, thanks. I get the pins out in a couple of days. Sure will be glad, so I can see if I can use it.
