Title: Mike Longnecker
Post by: Coop1082 on August 14, 2017, 05:08:17 PM
Just received my first pot from Mike and he knocked it out of the park! Wenge stoned aluminum over aluminum with a green dyed curly hickory striker. I apologize for the tailgate of a truck picture (currently outside running it). The pictures don't do the pot justice nor do they show how much figure is really in the striker. Looks aside,  the man can stuff a ton of turkey in a pot call. To say I'm pleased would be an understatement and I absolutely can not wait to get this thing in the woods! Will post a soundfile in the turkey call soundfile section in a little while. Thanks for the look guys and thank you Mike!

:icon_thumright: :icon_thumright: Mike makes them all turkey, for sure. Let me know when you find a pot that won't sound good with that hickory striker, cause I haven't found one yet! Congrats!!

It really is a great striker wood Steeler! My first striker from Mike as well. Great balance and feel. Like you told me not too long ago, hickory just seems to really grab every single surface. You see hickory talked about for slate on here but not really for any other surface when it really does run just about every single one well!

I agree on the hickory and I also like Osage on everything that I have tried

Yes - the Osage is another great all purpose striker. I liked the feel / balance / sound of Mike's - I had to just get a set... lol. Osage / Hickory / Wenge / Bloodwood / Purpleheart
