In the mail today. Seven long months but all worth it. I have had the Delrin model .45 for years and absolutely love it. So I needed a custom version. I had Ralph make me a Cocobolo and ivory that is outstanding in every way. It's exactly what I wanted in sound quality and playability. And she's smoking hot. This is only the 21st wood variation of the model .45. It's the last of his ivory and once the Cocobolo is gone he won't make anymore from that wood.
I'm proud to add this to my arsenal and my Permar collection! Thanks for looking.

Wow Allen those are nice!!!! I really like that cocobola. I have a 1920 cocobola with ivory MP coming. I got it used. Out of curiosity does the cocobola darken with time?? I have an old Buice cocobola call that it dark with none of that orangeish figure in in. The Permar that is coming is the same way... I just didn't know if that was the nature of cocobola. I know other woods lose their figure and darken over time.

All good questions Eric. Yes, cocobolo darkens with time. Even snakewood will lose it's figure over time with some sunlight and age. The reason Ralph uses African blackwood for the Henry Davis commemorative call is because the original became black over the years. Originally it was cocobolo. Ultraviolet light and other various factors can effectively change the color and figure of many wood types.
That trio is impressive, the Coca and Ivory are sure jaw droppers, Congrats
Yessir, Ralph makes a good one.
That is a mighty fine horn. The 45 is one turkey killing call.
Beautiful calls, been eye-balling a .45 for a while now, it is on the want list.
a permar 45 and hornstra is all man needs
Very nice looking horn Allen! Congratulations!
Congrats......beautiful call.
Wow! Congrats on a fine trumpet(s)!!
Congrats!! The .45 is my favorite of Ralph's models.
I have a .45 delrin. I also have several trumpets from several top trumpet makers and that .45 delrin is the easiest to play, best sounding call I have.
I have a Delrin 45 that runs and sounds awesome. Congrats to you!
Beautiful piece of cocobolo Allen. Ralph is quite an artist.
