Can Someone tell me what wood the Quaker Boy Grand Old master Was made of. Preferable the older 90's calls.
Thanks, Gerri
Walnut and Poplar
Bought mine in 89 or 90 and it was cherry/poplar
1993 grand old master... Cherry and poplar
:icon_thumright: thank you so much
Gerri
funny, I was just speaking to another member on the phone about this call. I got mine directly from QB in about 1990, guy said he would tune one up for me & its been my main box call ever since. Didn't come in bubble wrap, but wrapped in paper & boxed. Have called a ton of birds with it over the years. I like it better than any of my customs. Poplar & Cherry, Field grade, not the glued one. I've got one just like that and was just playing in it a bit ago.
I had a delux version back in 1985/6
The base on mine was glued frame 5 piece with the bottom walnut , the paddle was walnut or cherry ...I think the paddle on the regular models around that time were cherry , not sure it's been 30 plus years and that call fell victim to being sat on .....busted etc...
Mine gobbles like a champ
