My Walnut Salty Hen, slate/slate. If you like a sharper tone, my slate over glass or aluminum. I have some padauk that I'm going make some calls with before too long.

It's been a call that isn't even mine.....it's my hunting buddy's probably 20+ year old Cody "Envy" slate. That call is magic and Cody would do well to get their hands on it and figure out why that one sounds as good as it does. You could fill a bucket with all the blood that call has spilled over the years.

Bruce Wurth American Friction walnut slate is my number 1.  Jimmy Schaffer maple slate is another really nice sounding call.  I also like the thin Fred Cox Corian slate.

I probably have killed as many turkeys with my penns wood sweet talker trough call aluminum board as I have anything I don't use it much anymore . Been turkey hunting since 83 I retired it and giving it to my son , it is one of my favorites. I have custom calls I like ,but that call has been there and done that.
