I have the CM and the Wenge Slate from David Halloran. I'm debating on the metal mouth or the ceramic. Any opinions? I also plan to order a Halloran ipe striker and a stuckey ebony to compliment my pots.
Ceramic. Have a buddy who runs David's ceramic and it does the soft stuff really well. It's on the "to buy list" for me. On the other end I've heard a Metal Mouth in person and it didn't suit my ear. It wasn't bad by any means, but I prefer some of his others over it.
Davids ceramic is one of the best ceramics you can get in my opinion. I had the metal mouth and didnt keep it. I was not impressed with it.

I have two of the Ceramic and a Metal Mouth. Would pick either Ceramic all day. And Macks has them on sale right now, but you'd better hurry on that.
I don't own a metal mouth but the ceramic has brought in a few birds to the gun for me.
I agree, the metal mouth is nothing special but will still call up a turkey

surprised to hear the comments on the metal mouth. I have the twisted sister, the top shelf crystal, and the metal mouth. I like my metal mouth the best. have to say I threw all of davids strikers away. I have a friend who carves strikers out with a pocket knife. every call I get, I go run about 300 different strikers on it till I find the one that I like best.
