Title: Difference between IPE and dymond wood

Seems like ipe and dymond wood have same exact characteristics.,,hardness,,,,somebody care to share their knowledge.

Ipe is natural dymondwood is engineered resin and wood

 Dymondwood is laminated birch or other softer wood that is impregnated with resins and pressed with heat and high pressure to form a finished product similar to plywood. The plant that manufacturers it burned to the ground in about 2014 and no one else has started to make it. 

Ipe is like had been said already a natural species of wood and its dense and heavy

I like them both and find they run very similar.

Dymondwood is a Trademarked product that is no longer being made but you can still find some in limited colors.  Good replacements are Dymalux and WebbWood (High Density)

Ipe is natural.....I like natural.....it seems to carry the calls ability to another level, verses glued together or resin impregnated woods like dymondwood or stratbond.
