Title: Gooserbat Calls
Post by: Rzrbac on March 20, 2017, 06:26:48 PM
I would like to give a shout out to Gooserbat calls.  I won a couple of his calls on this forum and received them this afternoon. I chose the PLS and Bacon.

The PLS is a straight reed call with a couple of notches on the side.  I haven't had that style of call in years since I quit fall turkey hunting. I knew that call would be a great call for Kee Kees and I was right. What surprised me about the call was it makes some great yelps and cuts as well. It's not just a call for fall hunting as I would have suspected. It can make any turkey sound well and really excels on the Kee Kees.

My second call was Bacon. It's got a standard V cut down the middle of a gray latex reed. This call will deliver quite a bit of rasp and sharp cuts. It's right in my wheel house for way I call in the spring season.

Mouth calls have been what I've almost exclusively used for 30 years and I'm picky about what calls I will take to the woods.  I've pitched many new calls in the trash almost right out of the package. These 2 calls will be going to the woods with me next month.

For 20 years, I used Hally Caller diaphragms............then they became extinct.  Couldn't find ANYTHING that consistently worked.

Then I sent a few bucks the Gooserbat way................  The Heckler is my new go-to.  I'll be using it for the next 20 years, I hope.

PLS and Bacon is the same combination that I purchase from GB each spring for the past three years and plan to continue.
