Post by: Deputy 14 on April 09, 2011, 04:20:55 PM
Has anyone tried the .662 hevi choke with the mag blend?

I actually just started a thread about those chokes a couple days ago.  I think it's down to page 2 already but allaboutshooting seems to think they're a good buy so I am inclined to agree with the experts! :agreed:

How much are they?
From what I have seen pure gold, Indian creek and jellyhead pattern better.

I have seen them from around $49.00 to as high as $60.00.  Haven't shot one but if the Trulock ported .660 that the gf just told me arrived at the house today doesn't work out for my SBE II, I'll be looking into one.

No. Shipping was extra. I could get them cheaper at other stores but they were on backorder

I'm anxious to see how these chokes work in a Remington. They will flat smoke in a Beretta Xtrema.

This hevi choke .671 for Beretta xtrema is absolutely the fix.  Patterns Hevi 13 6's, 7's and also patterns win HV 6's and 5's well. Went through PG .670, JH .660, and kicks .670.

Hope to be able to post some pattern photos tomorrow and we'll see how they do through a Remington

Finally got to shoot a little today, shot 3 turkey targets and two 10 in. circles with the mag blend and the .662 hevi.  First circle had 193 at 40, second had 201 at 40.  Didnt count the hits on the turkey targets but have to go back to the range and get them later because I decided to leave them in our range house.  Prob waste $30 worth of shells again when i go back.  Try to get some pics up tonight.

I got 201 with the 3 1/2 7's and 154 with the 3 in mag blends. This was out of a Browning Maxus invector plus .664 hevi choke. Deep cleaned barrel fired 3 high brass dove loads and then went to the hevi-13's. Its not super tight but thats what I wanted since its my backup gun. Just a full pattern so someone (a kid, girl, or a newbie) that needs a lil extra security will have it and itll still kill em far as you want. Theres ton of chokes that will pattern just as good for less I just wanted to try it out.
