I don't have a Lyman, but I have a madagascar ebony. I don't care for the sound at all. Is Lyman different than others?

I don't have a Lyman, but I have a madagascar ebony. I don't care for the sound at all. Is Lyman different than others?

You bet they are...Lyman strikers are well balance in my hand. I'm sure you know that the weight, length, tip etc has a lot to do with sound. The good striker makers know this and uses this to the wood and strikers advantage. Bill, in my opinion, is an expert at this!

Rickey I wish my dymondwood from Lyman had a little bigger tip like yours. I like a lower pitch instead of higher.

I have a couple ordered from Bill but haven't heard from him in awhile. He's pretty busy. Looking forward to getting them. Tulipwood, Dymalux, and Mac Ebony.

Can't believe no one has mentioned his canarywood, sounds really good on bare aluminum and purrs good too. Also got dymondwood, snakewood, and tulipwood I would not part with
