...if you could only use one specific call for the rest of your turkey hunting life, what call would it be, and why?
Easy, long box - sound like half dozen or more birds out of one call, and will do anything from the kee-kee to a gobble.
This question is agonizing every time it gets asked, but................
If you put a gun to my head, I'd have to say a Gooserbat Heckler diaphragm.....................
Mouth call for sure probably batwing for me.

Box call, nothing has struck and called me in more gobblers. You can call with it right up to the point before they can see the source of calling. They know exactly where it's coming from. Just need to finish with some leaf scratching, if anything at all.
wingbone--- waterproof, sounds good played quiet, and they can put out the volume if wanted
Long box for sure...

X4
I'd have more problems with which one not which type.
Turpin style box call. Has its own unique sound and not a ton of people running them. They flat out call turkeys.
Aluminum pot or a mouth call

100% agree. A "good" longbox can make any sound that a fella would need to call in a big gobble.
Easy.
Andy Kaiser double sided glass/ slate with waterproof purpleheart striker.
Does everything from soft purrs and clucks, to mating yelps, and cuts.
If I had to choose a single call for the rest of my days, it would be a pot with a slate surface and a carbon striker. If I had to choose a single type of call, it would be a mouth call,...under the condition that I could use a new one of the same type when it wore out.
I've killed with about every type made but if I had to use just one it be an old walnut scratch box call I've had since the beginning. Its not fancy and not loud but it is all hen.
Trumpet. Since learning how to run one a few years ago it is "The 1 Call" .
